Beefeater Gin is a brand of gin owned by Pernod Richard, bottled and distributed in the United Kingdom, by the company of James Burrough. The name Beefeater refers to the Yeomen of the Guard, who are an elite group of bodyguards of the British Monarch.

Beefeater’s history started with James Burrough the founder who was born in 1835. Burrough focused on the existing product lines started by the previous owners, further establishing its reputation and enlarging its customer base and only produced his own distinctive style of gin in 1863.

Juniper, angelica root, angelica seeds, coriander seeds, liquorice, almonds, orris roots, Seville oranges and lemon peels are the 9 essential botanicals used to create Beefeater Gin. The Beefeater Distillery is housed in an Edwardian building with a 1950s extension, features original Victorian pot stills and a botanical room where the fresh ingredients are stored. The distillery also houses a custom-built visitor centre for viewing the original stills, learning the distilling process and the history of Beefeater. Bottled at the standard 40% ABV.
